Wind in the Rhythm Circle
Robbie Anderman & Friends
A reminder to us all of our roots in nature - a fast and effective way of reconnecting with those roots through the sounds of natural flutes and worlds of drums. This is a peace offering to the world, a reminder to slow down and smell the flowers, or better yet, watch them grow!
Robbie (a.k.a Beaver) Anderman, brought his natural end-blown flutes into a drumming circle of friends to share melodies from several traditions and to find the creative improvisations that arise from closely tuned-in listening. The Disc features Robbie on Japanese Shakuhachi, South American Quena, Pan pipes, and Native American Flutes. Leo Brooks, Jean Brereton, Eroll Francis and Drew McAlpine complete the circle with vibrant rhythms on a wide and varied assortment of drums and other percussion instruments from many cultures. The music is at times contemplative, energizing, mournful, and groovy.
